Digital Xrays

Carnarvon Vet Hospital is fully equipped to take radiographs (or X-rays) of your pet with the latest in digital x-ray equipment. Radiographs help us diagnose disease, particularly those involving the bones (e.g fractures), the chest or abdomen.

When your pet is admitted for radiographs, generally they stay with us for the day and go home in the afternoon, unless it is an emergency situation. As most pets require a light sedation to reduce stress, help positioning, and reduce operator xray exposure, we ask that you withhold food from your pet the morning of the admission to hospital.

Once the radiographs have been taken and your pet has recovered from the sedation, we will call you to organise a time to show you the radiographs, discuss the diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan with you.
